About Us

Rainscaping Iowa is a statewide campaign promoting infiltration based storm water management practices that protect water quality and reduce polluted runoff.  Administered by the Iowa Storm Water Education Program (ISWEP) and managed by strategic partners that include the major state agencies in Iowa connected to water quality issues.

Our vision is to build awareness and behavioral change, on many different levels, that result in the improvement and protection of Iowa's soil and water resources. This will be accomplished through an educational campaign via the website, supporting educational resources, and training for numerous stakeholders.  Future plans include a more advanced campaigns through media channels such as radio, television, and newspapers.

The program is supported by funding, time, and talent of its partners and stakeholders:

Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR)

Iowa Department of Agricultural and Land Stewardship (IDALS)

Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED)

Iowa Department of Transportation – Living Roadway Trust (IDOT)

Iowa Storm Water Education Program (ISWEP)

Polk Soil and Water Conservation District
